PERMAHAVEN: Permaculture techniques and volunteer etiquette

We are excited to announce our upcoming event on Friday, the 5th of May from 12.00 to 15.00.

The event aims to introduce the concept of permaculture and its techniques to our community while providing an opportunity to volunteer for a good cause. As a volunteer, you’ll not only be representing sustainability but also and people care – what an exciting opportunity!

Event Location

The location is Copenhagen Business School CBS, nearby P. Andersens Vandtårn (WaterTower) at Kilevej, 2000 Frederiksberg, which is easily accessed by bike or with the Metro (Fasanvej st).

Here’s what you can look forward to during the event:

12.00-13.30. Learn how to plant your raised bed using the latest techniques and discover the wonders of annuals and perennials, biodiversity, and soil! We’ll also explore the amazing benefits of weeds and how they can be indicator plants for soil type, beautiful, and highly nutritious. Plus, we’ll teach you how to deal with weeds – sometimes without even pulling them up!

13.30-14.00. It’s time to recharge and refresh ourselves during the 30-minute refreshment session. Take a break, enjoy some snacks, and chat with fellow volunteers.

14.30-15.00. Join us for a collaborative brainstorming session where we’ll discuss the future plans and design for the garden together. We’ll even have a historical revision for the contextualization of PERMAHAVEN!

We recommend bringing warm clothes (weather dependent), and wearing waterproof footwear (preferably rubber boots). Please also bring a few old newspapers to the event (to use for covering the soil to prevent weeds and keep moisture in). Don’t forget to bring any seeds and plants that you would like to have in your raised bed. The Permahaven team will bring a small selection of seeds you can plant too.

We hope to see you at  PERMAHAVEN, where we’ll have a day filled with learning, fun, and making a difference together!
