Join Us for an Inspiring Talk on Urban Permaculture! 🌿
How can university gardens serve as powerful learning spaces for sustainability? Join us for a fascinating talk with Begoña Alonso-Fernández, who will share insights from her experience transforming urban spaces into thriving permaculture gardens. She will discuss her work at UPEC’s Faculty of Education and Social Sciences, where she and her students have created a rooftop permaculture garden, blending education, ecology, and community engagement.
Begoña Alonso-Fernández has been a higher education teacher of Spanish language, civilization, and literature since 1997 (based at UPEC since 2005). Her research initially focused on comparative literature and reception theory, but in 2017, her passion for permaculture and urban agriculture led her to transform both her teaching practices and her university environment.
This is an open event – bring your lunch, invite a friend, and join the conversation!
🌿 We hope to see you at the event day and join us in our efforts towards sustainability, biodiversity and community well-being!
