Permahaven

‘Permahaven’ is a permaculture urban garden on the grounds of Copenhagen Business School (CBS) campus’ ‘Klimahaven’, next to the Water Tower in front of Nordre Fasanvej Metro Station. Permahaven will serve as a hub for learning and communicating about sustainability where the local community can share their knowledge among themselves and contribute to increasing biodiversity and well-being in the municipality, side by side with CBS students and staff. CBS is one of Scandinavia’s largest business schools, whose main building has been located in Frederiksberg since 2000 and is a permanent paroject consists of three main elements: lifelong learning, biodiversity and well-being.

Permahaven’ will create a framework for knowledge sharing about sustainability between CBS students and staff and the local community, inspired by permaculture thining. Permahaven will also strengthen biodiversity and the green corridors in Frederiksberg Municipality as well as increase well-being among the above groups. Why: CBS Campus has a great biodiversity potential if more campus square meters are used for green purposes in line with FRB Municipality’s Biodiversity Strategy. Permahaven can also contribute to opening up CBS campus to the local community by enabling voluntary collaboration between CBS actors and various local groups such as children’s and elderly institutions, ethnic minorities and the unemployed. CBS has theoretical knowledge about sustainability that can, through Permahaven, be communicated to local communities.

Vision for  Permahaven

Permahaven creates a framework for collaboration and knowledge sharing on sustainability between CBS and the local community, inspired by a permaculture mindset. The project has three main elements: community learning, well-being and biodiversity. Permahaven contributes to strengthening biodiversity and the green corridors in Frederiksberg Municipality as well as increase well-being among local residents, CBS students and staff. The project is based on lifelong learning principles as well as peer-to-peer learning, where the groups involved support each other in developing each other’s knowledge and skills.
