Brazilian Permaculture Experience with Diogo Vallim, 22.02.2024

aldi.msc@cbs.dk · 23/02/2024 ·

A huge thank you from the Permahaven Team to Diogo Vallim for a wonderful and informative presentation yesterday about his experiences working at permaculture ecovillages in Brazil. The event was also well attended 🙂 I learned a lot, and got inspired regarding things we could do to further develop Permahaven. Especially our ‘water feature’ 🙂💦

You can find the slides from Diogo’s presentation later here.

If other participants would like to tell us about their experiences with permaculture or similar, please let us know! 💚

Collaboration between Permahaven and Malmø University

aldi.msc@cbs.dk · 05/02/2024 ·

We are thrilled to announce a collaborative project between a group of students enrolled in the Master in Interaction Design program at Malmø University and the Permahaven.

Associate Professor Anne-Marie Skriver Hansen, a dedicated volunteer at Permahaven, reached out to us with a proposal. Her Master course in Relational Design at Malmø University focuses on sustainable human and more-than-human relationships, and she saw the potential for Permahaven to be an inspiring case for her students. We were honored to accept this opportunity to collaborate.

The journey began with an insightful online seminar where we shared the background of Permahaven and presented the communication challenges we are working on. The students, eager to dive into real-world scenarios, conducted interviews with our team, visited Permahaven in Frederiksberg, and distributed questionnaires among our dedicated volunteers and other stakeholders.

The interdisciplinary collaboration between Permahaven and Malmø University’s Master in Interaction Design students has been both inspiring and promising. We are eagerly anticipating the creative solutions that will emerge from this partnership. Stay tuned for updates on the progress of this exciting project!

Thank you to Associate Professor Anne-Marie Skriver Hansen and the talented students for their dedication and enthusiasm.

Watch this space for further developments! 🌿

‘Love Your Weeds’ Workshop Highlights!

aldi.msc@cbs.dk · 21/08/2023 ·

What an incredible journey it was! We’re still buzzing with excitement after our ‘Love Your Weeds’ practical workshop that took place on Saturday, August 19th. It was a fantastic day of discovery, learning, and connection.

Embracing the World of Weeds

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the amazing participants who joined us for this engaging and informative event. Together, we embarked on a captivating journey into the world of weeds and their versatile applications in permaculture, foraging, and beyond. We learned that these resilient plants are more than just ‘unwanted’ – they’re vital contributors to healthy ecosystems!

Unveiling Nature’s Heroes

Did you know that weeds are nature’s pioneers? They nurture the soil, enrich it with essential nutrients, and provide a home for biodiversity. During the workshop, we explored the many ways these unsung heroes support our environment and play a crucial role in maintaining its balance. You can find Maribel Blasco’s presentation on our website here.

One of the highlights was our adventurous taste test! Together, we uncovered the hidden wonders of common weeds, discovering their surprising flavors and potential culinary uses. Who knew that nature’s ‘weeds’ could offer such delightful surprises?

Beyond the knowledge gained, our workshop was also about connecting with like-minded individuals. We engaged in a collaborative brainstorming session, exchanging ideas, and exploring how we can further embrace the potential of these remarkable plants in our lives.

More from the event

To each and every participant, thank you for joining us on this journey of discovery and appreciation for the beauty of weeds. Your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn made the event truly special.

Stay tuned for more exciting workshops and events as we continue to explore the wonders of our natural world together. Let’s keep nurturing our curiosity and connection with nature! Until next time.
